Black Magic Design has announced DaVinci Resolve 17.

The new version brings 100 new features and 200 main improvements.

The color page comes with new hdr color grading and correction tools and redesigned primary controls. AI based magic mask allows targeted grading. Now users can automatically create masks for a person or isolate specific parts such as face or arms.

Audio tools also get a major update. The improved Fairlight Audio Core has support for 2000 tracks and auto load balancing. There is also automatic detection for words and sound beats and the ability to reverse audio clips.

The software is optimized to use multiple CPU cores and threads. It seems that owners of CPU's such as AMD Ryzen and Threadripper will be satisfied.

According to Blackmagic Design, DaVinci Resolve 17 is the biggest update in Fairlight history.

There are also many improvements to the user interface.

Last but not least, free users can cooperate on the same project using multiple workstations.

Davinci Resolve 17 is available at the moment as a public beta. There are two main versions. Davinci Resolve 17 beta which is free and Davinci Resolve Studio 17 that will cost less than 300 dollars. As always, there are Linux, Windows and Mac OS X versions.
